ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Inspired by Post- Impressionist Artists and their still life paintings... Idea here is not the exact copy of nature, but play with light and colors to convey the fresh feeling of Nature...I used mostly palette knife, and Japanese ink brush to accomplish this painting, sometimes direct from the tube.....Fresh fruit and old wooden table inspired me to paint this impressionist/expressionist / cubist style painting... I am inspired by painters like Cezanne, Van Gogh and Monet , and I am approaching this by creating my own style of almost action painting, putting the vibrant colors at once after carefully designing in my mind...

Hi, I am Mutlu Ertac: I was born in 1961 in Turkey .I have been painting in Oil and Acrylic since 1983. I studied under Vincent Farrell in Laguna beach, California in 2000 for 4 years He was a very well known Plein-air artist who was also Sergei Bongart's student in his early career years. The distinctive, broad strokes of color on canvas serve as my signature style. My colors are harmoniously arranged, seeking simplicity and pure shimmering of light and color in my paintings. I have diverse range of paintings , some traditional some abstract , and some contemporary. I like to use broad ,vivid colors and sudden large brush strokes to create an image that is spontaneous but very well thought before applied on Canvas... I am a colorist, working in exaggerated color, using dynamic but carefully controlled color relationships and in my abstract works ,I approach the painting as color first , feeling that is expressed and later the composition and whole idea of the art to fit together.... I apply the paint and after the paint is put on Canvas , I try to not disturb again by overworking...Image already in my mind, so It only takes few strokes to apply on Canvas...  WEBSITE : mutluertac.com INSTAGRAM : @mutlu.ertac_art
