There is no doubt that time as one of the primitive human contracts passes and we only get noticed by comparing specific intervals. These intervals act as hidden landmarks in which we passed through quietly without realizing exactly what they were. But still something is for sure: their impact is stable and lasting. Nasrin Barekat in her recent artworks exactly focused on the effects of time. Sometimes she compares and elsewhere she becomes purely a narrator. Women are still constituting the most crucial element of her artwork which became like a personal signature of hers. These women had become like a bridge to the past and she narrates what happened to them during the time, but on the contrary, Barekat’s women are not stricken and mournful, and vice versa, they are reflecting the story very potent. Another trait of Nasrin Barekat’s artworks, is its universal aspect. Although she uses Perisan elements in her works, but so artfully combines them with western icons that surrounded today's world. She involves the audience by something more than geographical affiliations and that’s the contemporary soul of her artworks. Kasra Aliha
