Concert In The Park Painting

Light and water are recurring themes in my work, as I find their color changing nature captivating. In person, these paintings provide light and shadow, as the eye follows one crowd to another. They have been sculpted with mediums for their dimensional effects. There are stories, as there always are with figures in a painting, and relationships for the viewer to imagine, as well as a time of day or mood accentuated by the color of the light. Pattern is also at play in my work, I find that as much as pattern gives complexity to a piece, it elevates a feeling of structure and therefore, calm.
