"An Eclectic Vista #3" captures the pulsating heart of Bandung, where the past and present merge in an intricate dance of identity. Utilizing a rich palette of acrylic, hand embroidery, ink, marker, marble powder, and image transfer, this piece weaves together the urban fabric of my city with the verdant soul of its surrounding forests. It is a narrative crafted through the confluence of mediums, reflecting the layered and evolving identity that defines both the individual and the collective within the bustling streets and quiet corners of Bandung. The artwork is a homage to the Indonesian heritage, drawing from the history of local painting and the masterful relief work of Jepara, harmoniously integrated with the transient energy of street art. This amalgamation is punctuated by the mythic green creatures that traverse the canvas, symbolizing the dynamic and ongoing struggle to define our place within the cultural tapestry. Their movement is frozen in a moment of time, yet their journey speaks of a continuous quest, mirroring the human condition in search of meaning and self. Through "An Eclectic Vista #3," I invite the observer to reflect on the 'how' of identity formation, emphasizing that identity is not a static 'what' but an active 'how'. It is a dynamic process informed by diverse influences and experiences, a testament to the complex beauty that arises when disparate elements come together to create something new. This piece stands as a visual dialogue about the eclectic nature of being, encouraging a conversation that resonates with the universal quest for understanding who we are in an ever-changing world
