"Photography was invented 100 years ago and it has only just been discovered," Moholy-Nagy declared in 1929, referring to his manifesto Painting, Photography, Film published in 1925. The boundary between figurative painting and photography was abolished by a mix of abstract shapes. The avant-gardes practice collage, superimposition, solarization, the photogram. 100 years later, with digitization, we are talking about plastic photography. The PHOTASY collection was born from the meeting of two worlds, that of drawing and the abstract photos of the TOA project that I create by photographing ephemeral plastic compositions. A simple overlay transports us to a new space. The figurative and the abstract combine naturally and release emotions specific to each.

My two favorite painters made each a statement about John Cage. The latter brought legitimity to their creativity. In 1966 Nicolas de Staël declared : « Can a painting nothing else? I do not know. All life is cruel because one is never sensitive enough. Cage is breath ». 40 years later, in 2006, Gerhard Richter completed the Cage series consisting of 6 artworks. He admitted making his own the famous John Cage's formula : « I have nothing to say, and I am saying it ». If I may paraphrase these two icones, I have nothing to say but a shy post-scriptum. Discover the exclusive Limited Edition of ONE only available for the Post-Scriptum collection. LensCulture about ALBEDO: "You have given us images that exist at the intersection of photography and painting. I understand that these images are also based on the concept of "albedo" which is the reflecting property of a surface—one without dimension. Your most complex images are the most compelling. I am drawn more toward your photographs that present a visual mystery. Ones where it takes a moment or two to identify the human form and the various shapes from nature. There are some very strong images in this project Jerome. Congratulations on your success this far. I encourage to keep on this track". Lens Culture about Harmony: "This series of abstracts have been framed in a very interesting way. You took a meaningful approach that stands out as looking through a unique lens. The images really stand out here for the strong use of color and contrast." Born on July 14th, 1962, I passed my photography degree in 1987. My first professional life allowed me to travel a lot and to practice my passion for photography, made of humanist features in black and white. Right on the day of my 50th birthday, I decided to reverse the priorities by spending the rest of my life solely on photography. Thus was born the project Love (2012-2015) published by the Eye of Photography. In 2016, I meet the French master Raymond Depardon who congratulates me for my work and encourages me. Like him, I discover color late, and my artistic proposal is moving towards less figurative and more abstraction. I adopt the famous quote by Serge Poliakoff: "Abstract art is like a big tree whose branches are moved by the winds. It allows freedom of spirit to flourish and man to express himself, free from the limits of figurative conventions”. I believe in humility and honesty, in the light-color-form-material quartet to lead me to abstraction.
