My recent work is focused on capturing the beauty in the everyday, our connection to objects both practical- appreciating the functionality of objects and to those objects we find sentimental which evoke memories and connection when used. I incorporate various processes within my work such as screen printing and pattern, often experimenting with a variety of media and techniques, I love the experimental effect of screen printing, each totally unique, the effect of texture or even marbling. In my current work I use mixed-media, painting in watercolour and gouache and screen printing with gouache or acrylic. I enjoy using bold, vivid colour including contrasting and complimentary colours. My current work involves cutting out each element which gives a slight 3D element and importantly emphasises the shape and form of each object. Various techniques and processes are included within one final painting.
