HEAR ME ROAR Artwork - Limited Edition of 50

In her newest series, "Sheroes, Saints & Sisters", Lisanne draws on eight iconic wise women who have influenced her development as an artist and human being--Jane Goodall, Gloria Steinem, Greta Thunberg--along with time-tested heroes of the past--Mother Teresa, Golda Meir, Eleanor Roosevelt and Ruth Bader Ginsberg. In her artwork, Lisanne invites us into the inner workings of these "sheroes" of our time as provocative "saints and sisters". By diving into their sheroe-ic history through keen artistic observation, we gain insight into each woman's essence. Through Lisanne's work, we come to know these women in a sensory, intuitive way. We FEEL their courage and fortitude, SEE the genius of their creative solutions toward healing a wounded world. We HEAR their warnings, open to their exceptional ideas, and sense the passion behind their insistence and willingness to speak up and call out an issue--to stand up for their beliefs and show us a path into a world transformed by untapped feminine wisdom and strength. Lisanne brings her sheroes to us through the processes of screen printing ink backgrounds, hand painting opaque watercolors on cotton rag paper and collaging/gluing pieces to create a single work. Her knowledge of each woman is present in the sensibility of each portrait. If you look closely, you will recognize humor, wisdom and the archetypal teacher/saint/guru alive in each portrait.
