"Flow" is a large artwork with delightful and complex textures, interweaving light and shadow, smooth simple surfaces with intricate layered tactile surfaces. It inspires a sense of peace and harmony that is a soothing balm in a complicated world, and is a reminder that we are all connected - that we all have that flow of universal energy running through us. It is inspired by my own life experience: busy, complex, overwhelming in the details. And if I let it, it will take over and I will be lost. "Flow" is a reminder to myself -- and to everyone out there that sometimes feels overwhelmed by the chaos of daily life -- that always, always, there is there, inside of us, that flow of peace, harmony, universal energy. When we feel lost within the complicated, scrunched up, detailed and busy convolutions of our daily lives, we need to take a deep breath and reach for the flow...it is there...inside us...and all we have to do is reach out for it. The materials used are perfect metaphors for the interaction between chaos and order, detail and simplicity. The scrunched up cotton, meticulously arranged in layers, reflects the intricacies of daily life—its challenges, surprises, and the myriad emotions that accompany the journey. The material is, literally, the "material" world with all its convolutions. In contrast, the resin is smooth and calm -- it is(again quite literally!) "fluid". It is simple and peaceful, but not banal. Within its simplicity there are intricacies: its own flow, life and beautiful detail, shown in the alcohol inks and the tiny glass bubbles woven into the layers of resin. The flow itself is also always moving, always changing -- but in a way that soothes and connects us. The overall effect is a visual meditation on the interconnectedness of individual existence with the universal current—a reminder that, despite the intricate details of daily life, a serene undercurrent of harmony is always present for those who choose to perceive it.

Christina Ayer is a Canadian artist who has been living and working in Italy for two decades. She has gained international recognition for her remarkable work in mosaic art. Her pieces, exhibited worldwide, celebrate artistic freedom by challenging conventions and dogmas. In Christina's compositions, we find the expression of a freedom that goes beyond mere instinctive action; it stems from awareness and responsibility for one's choices. Her work is a dialogue between intuition and structure, nature and artifice, reflecting a delicate balance between material reality and higher consciousness. Christina's works invite observers to examine the chains imposed by society and to discover the potential connection between earthly existence and the spiritual dimension. In this way, her art is not just a visual representation but an invitation to explore one's higher self and transcend cultural and personal limitations.
