This piece is a response to Blaise Pascal's Pensee #113: "Thinking reed. It is not in space that I must seek my human dignity, but in the ordering of my thought. It will do me no good to own land. Through space the universe grasps me and swallows me up like a speck; through thought I grasp it." It's one of a large series made with only red, black, and grey cut paper; the limited palette helps establish a tight, dynamic visual language to try and match that of Pascal. Made with archival paper. A unique piece that comes ready to hang.
