ABOUT THE ARTWORK

“Embedded with my childhood mantra ‘pain is beauty’, this artwork reflects on wearing heels while consciously aware of the impending blister. Through the obscure composition, I illustrate the nuanced interplay between pain and beauty. I love fashion and enjoy collecting shoes. I have recently built a new wardrobe just to accomodate my collection, and it is still not big enough. When I get dressed, I normally start with my shoes and work my way up. In a way holding up my pair of shoes in this artwork, I am screaming, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE SHOES!" "These shoes weren't made for walkin'" was exhibited at Art Lovers Australia, Melbourne Gallery, in 2023 as part of the "Surface" exhibition. This artwork was carefully drawn with high quality pencils on the prestigious Magnani 1404 cold pressed fine art paper. The finished work is exquisitely delicate and invites the viewer to inspect the stunning details. It is professionally framed by Wide Bay Art Gallery ready to hang on your wall with D hooks and string. Artwork size: 12 x 18inch Framed: 17 x 21 x 1inch

Drawing inspiration from personal experiences, my art practice is reminiscent of an intimate "Dear diary". Dipping in between the real and surreal, my intricately detailed portraits invite viewers to create their own story. Through my introspective examination of the human condition, I explore both the joys and challenges that shape our existence, offering a relatable and moving commentary on the complexities of life. My art encourages introspection and self-discovery, making it a deeply personal and thought-provoking experience for viewers.
