It is through the appropriation of the notion of traces & all its definitions, such as those left by nature or past events, (including shadows, souvenirs, or remains) that my work questions the ephemeral nature of things and beings, using different mediums like photography, drawing or painting. It is essentially the distance with the referent that creates what I call an in-between. This place, where resonances of memories are summoned and where anyone can project themselves in their own way, is what I seek to bring to light. Foliage, flowers, plants, always misguiding perception and creating doubt. The paper I use for my drawings is a paper often used for etching. It allows me to decline all shades of deep black to almost transparent gray.

I Live and work in Paris and Dinard, France. My work questions, through different mediums such as photography, drawing or painting, the ephemeral nature of things and beings and their impermanence. I like to play with the limits of the figurative, creating different universes. My favorite subjects are nature, landscapes but also relationships between human beings as depicted in my series of couples. My drawings in graphite use a deliberately reduced palette, where I decline all shades from deep black to almost transparent gray. Foliage, flowers, plants are always mysterious, questioning perception. My drawings have been compared to aquatint. While I'd never seen my work that way, I imagine it could be a legacy of my school years, during which I practiced etching and loved drawing as a medium. About my artistic influences, I particularly appreciate the paintings of the Victorian era, and in particular Pre-Raphaelite painters, John Everett Millais and John William Waterhouse as well as the 17th century Dutch, more specifically Johannes Veermer's genre scenes. Regarding contemporary art, I admire the work and approaches of artists such as Gerhard Richter, Edward Hopper, Tony Oursler, Anish Kapoor, Bill Viola, Andy Goldsworthy as well as Christo and Jeanne-Claude.
