Inner journey (Italian original title: Viaggio Interiore) consists of three illustrations, a sequence of images in which a woman (portraying the self) gets lost in the depths of her thoughts until her journey transforms her into a small paper boat. Each illustration measures 20 x 30 cm and altogether, side by side, they will create a large artwork 60 cm wide by 30 cm high. The first figurative picture showing the full figure is titled Meditation. The second one, portrays the transformation from woman to boat and it is named: Labour. The third picture, Ascension, shows a paper boat floating freely on a sea of ink. White frame.

I am an Italian artist and illustrator. My works depict a world in which reality is represented through metaphorical and psychological images. My interest is focused on issues related to the psyche. I'm interested in feelings, emotions and troubles of the soul. My subjects show a fragile humanity, not out of inner weakness but out of a natural vocation. The use of vibrant colors and bold contrasts, alongside the mélange of various media, enable me to create a complex world where reality coexists with metaphorical elements, the surreal and psychological; a world that can be interpreted in a variety of levels. I work on paper, cardboard and canvas using mixed media: monotype, collage, graphite, acrylic, pastels, grattage. Environmental problems are a topic that I hold dear and all my artistic production develops around the idea of recovering and recycling poor and discarded materials. I find inspiration in paper as a material, and I use discarded magazines, clippings of my drawings or monotypes, old printed papers and envelopes.
