Great Blue Heron Drawing

I'm Oxana Shimanchuk, stage name O.Shim. I am an artist, designer and musician. “In the process of painting, each painting becomes for me an event, an emotion and much creative pleasure. Once completed, it becomes a story of an event, of the emotion and creative pleasure.” (O.Shim) I enjoy living in Portugal because I can get much inspirations in it`s beautiful mountains, rivers, forests and of course the wonderful sights of the Atlantic ocean coast. With this feeling for the landscape around me, I'm trying to capture the beauty of nature, whether it's a magnificent color transformation in the sky ou in the reflections of water at sunset or at dawn. “The tones and combinations chosen by the artist in each work reveal and reflect the spirit of the moment. It should be noted that the artist uses the palette and a set of colours to represent the continuous changes in the outside world – mainly in light. This is done with light, graceful strokes using a gradient of the same color. 
 The palette is sober and the brushstrokes are free, which results in a clear representation of the reality that surrounds it. The notion and expression of individuality is evident in very particular forms and the painting itself is a subjective and intimate expression of the artist, in which she dedicates time and work to the making, as if it were a representation of the reflected gaze. 
 By capturing the color and brightness of the landscape at different times of the day, the artist captures her impressions, transforming sensation into aesthetic expression. In her painting, at times, she escapes the physiological character, allowing the spectator to find more of a psychological character.

Since childhood I have shown vivid interest in the world of arts - painting and music. Since graduation at graphic design and multimedia I have been working as a designer. At the mean time I have developed interest in oil painting. I am a member and Curatorial Assistant at the Arts Department at AveiroArte, Experimental Circle of Plastic Artists of Aveiro. My art works are represented in several national and foreign private collections.
