Focus Drawing

One of the daoist mind practices consists of sitting still and looking at a red circle as a focus point. It's supposed to help us learn how our mind operates, observe its flows and patterns. This art piece was inspired by that principle, and aims to bring the energy of clear concentration. A piece from an ongoing collection of hand drawn materials, primarily wood, captures melodic waves of wood grain that interact with shapes and colours, creating a meditative experience for the viewer. Each piece undergoes a ritual by the artist, you can call it magic or any other way, that plants an intention into the canvas. It then radiates a certain energy, emotion, essence.
