About The Artwork

My new works from 2020 are focussed on the idea of connection. The connection between humanity and nature. It is obviously also a reaction to the state of the world and the constant attack on the natural world. It comes down to this. We are of the earth, not seperate. Everything we do has consequences that also affect us not just the natural world in a separate way. The circle of sticks is something I found outside as it is, I hung it on the wall in my studio and it has found its way into my art. It represents Time, and humans as a moment in time and a part of the whole. The birds represent us as well, as well as moments, or events that happen and disappear into time as it moves. This is a mixed media artwork with a mix of mediums used, these being: charcoal, graphite and acrylic on unstretched canvas.
