This is a limited edition portfolio of eight photographs of John Fowles I took at his home in Lyme Regis, Dorset, in 1998. Some of these images have been published in the media in Denmark, the UK and the United States. One of them was used as the author photograph in a recent US edition of The Tree with a foreword by Barry Lopez (Harper Collins, 2010). This portfolio is printed on high quality fine art paper with a matt finish in a limited edition of five. Each of the eight images is sized 9.45x6.16' with an one-inch white border. The overall size of each print is 8x10'. Each of the photographs is signed in pencil: "John Fowles in Lyme Regis; Anthony Georgieff, 1998". The portfolio ships in a box. No. 1 of the limited edition is in the Landmark Trust, the UK charity that now owns Belmont House. The Lyme Regis Museum owns No. 2. John Fowles (1926-2005) was named as one of the 50 greatest English writers since 1945, according to The Times. He wrote novels such as The Collector (1963), Aristos (1964), The Magus (1965, revised in 1977), The French Lieutenant's Woman (1969), The Ebony Tower (1974) and Daniel Martin (1977). Some of these were filmed with Michael Caine and Anthony Quinn starring in The Magus (1968), and Meryl Streep and Jeremy Irons in The French Lieutenant's Woman (1981). The script for the FLW was written by Harold Pinter. John Fowles was considered a reclusive writer and only a few photographs of him exist. These tend to be snapshots taken mostly in the 1960s and 1970s.

Bulgaria
I was born in 1963, in Burgas, at the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, where I had my first exhibition of photography as early as 1982. As many as a dozen exhibitions plus many publications followed in Bulgaria, Poland, and the UK. I left the country altogether in early 1989 and settled in Denmark. In the 1990s I worked in media and lived in Copenhagen, London, Munich and Prague. My interest in photography was kept alive by contributing regularly to pre-digital and therefore now defunct magazines such as Katalog in Denmark, Creative Camera in the UK, European Photography in Germany and Bildtidningen in Sweden. In the 2000s I settled in Sofia, Bulgaria where I publish Vagabond, Bulgaria's English Magazine, and photography-related books. Some of the recent titles include A Guide to Jewish Bulgaria (2011), Ottoman Bulgaria (2011 and 2012), Hidden Treasures of Bulgaria (2014), Thracian Bulgaria (2015) and Roman Bulgaria (2016). My entitled The Bulgarians was published in 2016. The latest titles are A Guide to Communist Bulgaria (2018) and A Shadow Journey/Elizabeth Kostova's Bulgaria and Eastern Europe. All of those are on amazon.com and amazon.co.uk.
