THE PAINTINGS SECTION FROM DAVIS MUSEUM The Davis Lisboa Mini-Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona Davis Lisboa, "Boîte-en-valise #2", 2016, oil on canvas, 11,8 x 11,8 in (30 x 30 cm) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What/who inspired the work? The artwork that inspired me was the "Boîte-en-valise" by Marcel Duchamp. Formally, this piece has inspired me by the black and white photorealistic paintings by the German artist Gerhard Richter. What do you hope its viewers will feel/think? I hope the focus of the painting makes the viewers imagine the 89 reproductions of Marcel Duchamp. I hope the viewers can think you can create an imaginary museum only through paintings. Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style? I chose the painting because I can I fix concepts efficiently, without worrying about the fragility of the piece. Oil painting can lkep in good conditions for centuries without undergoing major changes. I chose this issue because it is totally linked to my project titled Davis Museum, a conceptual exhibition space created by an artist. I chose this style because it is about a documentary image. I believe that these paintings are not sensory, but conceptual. How will your artwork be packed for a movement? Artwork will be guaranteed to be shipped in accordance with high security standards, so that your shipment is as safe as possible while traveling from the artist's studio to your museum, gallery, hotel, business or home. For this, your oil paintings on canvas will be sent unrolled, stretched out on a wooden frame, flat, without frames and any special assembly.
