ABOUT MY WORK This series results from my passion for drawing; my illustrations alter reality by manually correcting and juxtaposing images, trying to achieve an interaction between Photography and Drawing. A kind of computerized craftsmanship representation. The hyperrealist movement of the 1980s has always been a source of inspiration for me. At first glance, some of these works may appear as photographs. Still, a closer examination reveals their subtle and significant differences in detail, light, representation and personal interpretation of a fragment of the urban space or architecture. My work stems from the juxtaposition of personal techniques I experimented with three decades throughout my career as an architecture illustrator: from first sketches to photography sources to mixed techniques - I combine images and layer them into a collage, making manual alterations, sometimes assembling fragments of ideas to create the final one.

Australia
Alex grew up between Switzerland and Italy, known for his photorealist perspectives and building illustrations in 70-the 80s—particularly the meticulous vision of architectural drawings. Architect, educator, and architecture illustrator based in South Australia. Architecture representation is my passion. I find enjoyment when representing architecture through sketches, painting, and architectural drawing techniques. The ‘Elusive’ aspects of the representation of subjects as well of -URBAN VISION - to which I apply my artistic inclination and my personal experience as an architect are my Architectural Illustrations. This is where I alter reality by manually correcting and/or juxtaposing images, trying to achieve an interaction between photography, drawing, and illustration. In my design and architecture, I approach design as art and art as a project, creating strange contamination between painting and architecture as well as photographs, creating provocative concepts such as computerized Craftsmanship to represent the vision of the cities. I combine traditional manual techniques, methods, and digital painting to produce my work. I believe the art of allusiveness, or suggestion moves us as humans and feeds our spirit.
