About The Artwork

This is an original abstract acrylic and ink painting on archival paper, influenced by my love of organic shapes, money plant seed pods, string lights, paper lanterns, and new year's eve. I combined the colors and shapes to give a feeling of a Chinese New year on the streets with hanging paper lanterns and the abundance of food, fruit and love. The feeling in this piece is one of joy, abundance and proliferation.

Ali Herrmann is a mixed media painter, colorist and science lover, whose work explores cellular structures as an origin into her abstract artworks. Creating what she terms ‘micro-biome landscapes,’ Herrmann uses SEM images and organic shapes as inspiration to explore concepts of blood, bacteria, fungi, and unicellular structures within her boldly colorful, abstract artworks. Exploring themes of repetition, rhythmic orders, geometric shapes, and chaos-order theory, Ali brings attention to nature's details that are often overlooked.
