"Garish: Don'Tell", 2017; Ink, Acrylic, and Spray Paint on Canvas; 20" x 24" In the past two decades, my opinions and approach to the LGBTQ community has changed drastically. I have been able to look past much of the ignorance I possessed as a young man, and have grown more tolerant and understanding of other people and their persuasions as I approach middle age. In recent years, my Sister-in-Law and Nephew came out as homosexual to their families. I am glad they were comfortable enough to not closet themselves, and that our society has begun to recognize more LGBTQ individuals and more people have been able to be who they are outwardly to the world that surrounds them.
