Hymns (To the Silence) On a chilly November night, riding the Staten Island Ferry to visit the Statue of Liberty; upon landing at our destination, we happened to encounter the Staten 9/11 Memorial. The tribute was pointing to NYC skyline. It is a breath-taking work of public art shaped into an Post Card. Enclosed are the names, titles, birthdays and outlined profiles of the fallen residents of Staten Island. We have tried to capture the moment and pay homage to this Peaceful Sculpture and Wish for More Peace and Silence Reflection in our shared communities and environments (locally and globally). Each year we select a word and image that we feel best represents the upcoming year… In 2015 that word was Hymns. As a Part of My Desire to Explore, Capture and Share the World's Stillness in Secret Places and Sacred Spaces… I’m Honoured to Express this Moment in Time with You. © GarrettAndrewChong Photo > 10 Signed “Limited Edition” Prints are Available > Unsigned “Open Edition” Prints are also Available; Please Select the "Prints" Tab Photography Site: ForeverNow.ca

A fourth generation Chinese-Canadian, Garrett Andrew Chong's digital art and multimedia artworks have evolved through spiritual influences; specifically, sacred teachings, daily meditation and Hatha yoga. Chong was recently recognized as one the Top Five Digital Artists in CultureCrawl, 2022 by Stir Vancouver, and he earned Artist-of-the-Week honours by Tri-City News. Working with the multiple interpretations of "light", Chong's pieces explore the imagined "light" of auras, the "light" of the sun as a life source, and the "light" which radiates in environmental consciousness. Liminal Illusions, his latest body of work captures BC's forest stewardship through the flow of nature. Chong's artworks witness the environmental portals, gradually emerging in Gaia. These iridescent thresholds may appear as vibrating apparitions, metaphorical illusions or signposts to the imminent climate crisis. Acting as a voice for environmental stewardship and global conservation, his lens-based images represent the physical, emotional and symbolic openings appearing in liminal space within our natural world. ===== Awarding-winning Designer & Fine Art Photographer from the Emily Carr University of Art & Design 1986 in Vancouver, BC, Canada
