The Swell wave sculpture has a smooth turquoise inside and a textured exterior resembling a wave in motion. Crafted using high-fire stoneware clay and glaze. My new ceramic wave sculptures (created in 2023) originated from a plaster cast of my belly during my 2020 pregnancy. The mold sat in my studio as a beautiful reminder for a couple of years. I wasn’t really sure what to do with it. Then it hit me—the shape could be used to make waves. Thus, I started phase two of my ceramic wave sculpture journey.
