WHY I LOVE IMPRESSIONISM SO MUCH. (oil on canvas board, 38x46) Impressionism is truly a unique art that has given the world many splendid paintings and has inspired generations of artists. They sought to capture the beauty and dynamism of the world around us and convey their impressions to us. The artists aimed to capture the moment of impression - the atmosphere of the moment, rather than specific details. For this reason, images in Impressionism were created with a multitude of small, precise, and brief brushstrokes. Impressionists observed and captured the changing nature of our reality, the movement and variability in real-time in their paintings. The idea was to show the ephemerality and changeability of the effects of light and color on the canvas. Impressionists sought to convey the impressions and sensations evoked by a scene, rather than providing an accurate and realistic portrait of reality. They pursued a more subjective approach in art. Impressionism, for me, is movement, variability, transformation, and life itself.
