This is a tile panel glued to plywood and framed. It has hanging brackets designed for heavy weights. Tiles are screen printed and burned in kiln. I like to use materials as a medium that can be monumental and at the same time utilitarian in their purpose. Since ancient times, ceramic tiles have found their practical use wherever possible, from interior decoration to building facades and underground subways. Wherever they were used, they protected the structure: from harsh moisture to the scorching rays of the sun. At the same time, ceramic tiles created timeless beauty for years and even centuries. Due to its operational properties, ceramic tiles have been able to bring to our times the creations of the works of artisans who worked many centuries ago. Today, these creations can tell us about what colours and images people liked in those days, what was used to make tiles and where they could be used. My idea is to create fragment of tile art that can be mobile and can be sent anywhere in the world without the need for construction work to be seen. I like to use things that I see around as a pattern and then depict them in my own style. This pattern was based on gasoline stains on a puddle that I saw while walking around the city with my dog.

Kazakhstan
I was born and raised in Kazakhstan, mostly in Almaty, the city surrounded by Alatau mountains. From 2017 I have been practicing screen printing skill on different surfaces, like textile and clothes, until i came up to idea of making ceramic tiles covered with prints of my own design using silk screen printing technique. For five years i was making tiles by small local brand Meraki. Recently i started to make some artworks such as tile panels in my own unique style. I buy tiles, then i print them using my hands with ceramic onglaze colours, an then i burn them in kiln. So all my works are monumental and they won't be able to fade or washed out. Please enjoy my works and make them a part of your great collection of art around the world.
