WAITING,PHOTO CHEMICAL ON BROMIDE SELECTED AND OPEN FOR VIEWING Friday Sept 4,2020 at art impact international my painting here is a fusion of my two passions- art and photography.Friday In the painting- A man is waiting in the hope of the pandemic to end. We are missing even our basic day to day life, experiences and leanings. We are in a hope of a better future- at least a future similar to pre covid days. This is my unique experimental creation- a painting using photographic chemicals on a bromide paper. Bromide paper is a photosensitive paper. I started this technique when I was studying my photography degree. I accidentally came across a piece of bromide paper with some chemical spilled on it. To my eyes, this looked like an interesting art piece. This incident inspired me to experiment with various chemicals on the bromide paper in black and white and in color. In simple words, the photosensitive bromide paper is my canvas and the chemicals are my colors. There is no camera or darkroom involved. We can make the painting in room light. However, the most difficult part of the process is that the reaction finishes in a couple of minutes. In two minutes, we have to finish the drawing before the final image appears. Further, onces the reaction finishes, we cannot make any corrections. We cannot make any final touches. Once the paper has reacted, that's it. It wont respond to more chemicals. It took me about a decade to master this technique. I had to experiment with the kind of chemicals to use as well as the strength and methods to apply chemical on the paper, as well as learn how to make a painting via this technique. This painting-The Waiting is the result of those years of experimentation.

Short Bio I was born at ELURU, A.P. in INDIA (SOUTH). Since the age of five I am closely integrated with the art. Being born to a renowned artist right from my childhood, I had an urge towards art and photography. I used to observe my father while he was painting and when he finished his work, I used to clean his brushes. Often I used to paint with the same brushes. I followed my passion for art and studied photography in the school. Subsequently, I was employed in IDPL Rishikesh, Uttaranchal as an Artist & Photographer. To fulfill my creative urge, I did several experiments for more than a decade on photo chemicals on bromide, and painting on used X ray film after treating them with photo chemicals. Living close to Himalaya Mountains, I was inspired by the splendors of nature and did several paintings on canvas.
