This artwork belongs to a series of similar drawings and paintings with the same theme and was created in the spirit of Neo-expressionism. The term Zombie is primarily associated with a mythological creature created by the reanimation of a human corpse. We first encounter this term in Haitian folklore where a zombie's dead body is reanimated by Voodoo magic. It is actually a ghost or a corpse that still retains a soul. Today, it is still present in modern, popular culture: in film, comics, street art and rock music. It also appears in performance art as a form of rebellion as part of an organized protest march. In this case, the painting work is characterized by a neo-expressionist approach in depicting a human portrait, with free, violent, unrestrained traces of gestures, tiny notches and abstract spots. He shares with the Neo-Expressionists a common interest in the dark, mythological and mystical. The work arises precisely from the artist's interest in the supernatural, irrational and magical, with the intention of provoking, surprising or disturbing the viewer.

Serbia
Serbian contemporary artist, designer and decorator. He is best known to the general public for his artistic nomadism and playing with different artistic styles as well as design works created in relation to artistic research from fine art to applied art (design) with the aim of problematizing and pointing out the absence of strict boundaries between them in contemporary artistic expression. These works are characterized by an interest in postmodernist ornamentalism and a mixture of historical styles taken from modern art. Various conflicting stylistic codes from the history of contemporary art allow mutual transformations. It is actually about artistic creativity that erases the boundaries and differences between high and popular art, between fine art and folk art.
