This painting belongs to my Toronto 'urban realism' series and depicts an image from bygone years. It's the iconic Toronto street car that has recently been replaced with new modern versions. The building once called 'Marty Millionaire' at Parliament St. and Queen has also changed ownership and is no longer blue.

I would describe my works as a kind of visual poetry or music expressed in colour, form, rhythm and design.... from light and playful to moody and dark. The works span a diverse range of styles and subject matter; abstracting architecture or whimsical expressive 'dreamscapes' to (shown here soon) quirky urban realism and revisiting retro themes like vintage cars, scooters, bikes, old store fronts, etc. I often like to juxtapose and layer imagery over an imagined background. Explorations of shifting realities in space, simplicity in complexity, harmony in dissonance, expressions of joy and wonder.
