ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"Priorities" is a modern abstract of softly colored, floating organic forms and gestural lines to create a lovely sense of space. Its neutral palette is calming and uplifting. Its movement is eye-catching and positive. It can pair with, "Unearthed." Please see additional photos for details. Full size is 20H x 16W x .75D inches, on hardboard cradled on natural wood, ready-to-hang. It is signed on back and ships in a box. This mixed media abstract is from a series exploring the enduring strength of the natural world. With color, forms, texture, and line, I express emotions of love, life, absence, presence, and longing. The works in this series were created with quality paint and materials left from other projects, on natural wood, and cotton canvas. They serve to remind you of your own strength, endurance, and connection. They invite you to amplify your inherent goodness.

Featured in Saatchi Art collections and catalog, Michelle Louis is a full-time painter based near Madison, Wisconsin. Her work has been in numerous exhibitions, and included in corporate, public, and private collections throughout the United States and abroad, including the National Gallery of Costa Rica. She's licensed work to designers and consultants for projects large and small. "Artist and naturalist, I'm curious about how nature inspires awe, how we feel it deep in our bones, how to express that connection, and what we can learn from it. My process-focused work explores balance, pattern, and connection in a complex world. Celebrating Nature through form and movement, I want to show you how Nature and time constantly expand and contract all around us. I hope my work serves as a reminder to be receptive to beauty and mystery. Whether artist or viewer, individual life experience makes its way into every artwork while Nature reminds us we are all part of something larger." Trained in studio art, graphic design, and landscape architecture, Michelle Louis' studio extends to her yard, where she nurtures an edible landscape. BA, University of Wisconsin, USA.
