Claude Monet, born (under the name of Oscar-Claude Monet) on November 14, 1840 in Paris and died on December 5, 1926 in Giverny, is a French painter and one of the founders of Impressionism. He began his career as an artist by making portraits of the notables of the city of Le Havre. In 1859, he left for Paris to try his luck on the advice of Eugène Boudin. In 1866, he was successful at the Salon de peinture et de sculpture thanks to La Femme en robe verte representing Camille Doncieux whom he married in 1870. He fled the war of 1870 in London, then in the Netherlands. In the English capital, he meets the art dealer Paul Durand-Ruel, who will be his main source of income for the rest of his career. Back in France in 1871, he took part in the first exhibition of the future Impressionists in 1874. From 1890 on, Monet devoted himself to series of paintings, that is to say that he painted the same motif at different times of the day, in different seasons. He then sometimes painted dozens of canvases in parallel, changing according to the present effect. France
I am a passionate Dutch portraitist who lives and works in France (Blois). I paint personalities and people who touch me, inspired by their talent and vision of life. My paintings are a tribute to these artists of all kinds, authentic, pure and, in my opinion, talented. I started with figurative Portraits. Now I am experimenting with pop art and contrasting colors. I like to work in series: Forever 27, Jazz musicians and singers, Impressionist Painters, Pop Music Stars, French singing and musical artists. I am happy to share these portraits with you and invite you to discover them here.
