In this story, I show my love of color and texture, fixing thousands paper origamis on my painting to create a sense of excitement and joy. Inspired by abstraction, pop art and symbols, I sought to capture the quintessence of optimism and freedom. It will bring an explosion of life and positive energy, awakening a feeling of happiness with every glance... The origami used in this story were folded by my father “André Messas” during this long period of COVID in 2020. A legend says: “Whoever folds a thousand paper cranes will have their wish granted.” » So for almost a year he folded thousands of origami for each of his children and grandchildren… and I will in turn use them in this series called “ORIGAMI”. All the artworks in this story will be presented in an frame box (between 3 to 9 cm thick) protected by a glass or plexiglass plate. The artwork will be carefully packed and sent in a wooden case. [ The crane is considered a mystical or holy creature (others include the dragon and the tortoise) in Japan and is said to live for a thousand years. That is why one thousand origami cranes (千羽鶴, senbazuru, lit. 'one thousand cranes') are made, one for each year. In some stories, it is believed that the cranes must be completed within one year and they must all be made by the person (or group of people) who will make the wish at the end.].

Germany
Living between Paris in France and Karlsruhe in Germany, my life, like my paintings, are a mirror of my journeys and imaginations. Journeys across countries, continents and cultures, looking for diversity and new impressions – and journeys to my interior in the search of inner balance. My paintings are often very colourful and express my emotions, my state of mind and my needs. Needs of constant change and freedom. After 10 years of fashion and design, I decided in 2012 to professionally paint and live from my artwork. Ever since, I paint with passion every day and each of my paintings is a step towards the harmony I am continuousely looking for. Join me in my world, I am awaiting you there... * READ MY INTERVIEW "Le Luxe Authentique" with the journalist Carine Maroudian >>> https://le-luxe-authentique.com/en/portrait/olivier-messas/
